Back pain started hurting a lot

From the past few years, whenever I do certain things, like raking or shoveling, my lower back becomes extremely painful. I can barely walk after the pain starts. But at the moment this has become worse. I can't even wash all the dishes at one go because my back begins to hurt very bad. I had to carry a bag of around 5 pounds from the car today and it hurt me so bad afterward. I feel a lot better if I sit down or lie down. Anything that makes me bend like washing dishes or cleaning the room, it really pains a lot. What kind of doctor is the best to see first? I think it is necessary to get massage therapy done at the earliest. Or should I visit a chiropractor or an ortho first?
